Gripped Pt 2

Mar 9, 2025    Zac Breckenridge

What do you do when the altar isn’t in reach? Last week, we learned to hold onto the altar until God moves, but what happens when you’re in a place of uncertainty, isolation, or adversity—where the altar isn’t there to grab onto? In this second message of the *Gripped* series, we turn to the story of Jacob, a man who wasn’t afraid to wrestle with God for his breakthrough.

In Genesis 32, we see Jacob alone, stripped of all security, when suddenly, God initiates a wrestling match. Throughout the night, Jacob refuses to let go, even when his hip is dislocated. He holds on with all his might, not letting go until he receives his blessing. It is in this moment of divine struggle that Jacob’s identity is forever changed—from being known as a “heel-grabber” to becoming **Israel, the one who prevails with God.

This message challenges us to develop holding faith—faith that refuses to quit, faith that doesn’t let go, faith that grasps onto God until transformation happens. If you’re in a season where you feel like you’re wrestling—don’t let go! Your fight isn’t against circumstances; it’s a divine invitation to contend for your blessing.**
